Researchers have claimed two different women named Anna to be Gershom's wife. It is yet to be determined which is correct.

(1) In the 1928 Genealogy of the Burbank Family by Geo. Burbank Sedgley (p. 64) it is stated that Gershom m. 20 Nov 1760 Newbury MA Anna PARSONS, b. 4 Sep 1738, d. 8 May 1818.

Anna is buried in Blair Cemetery, Campton NH, FAG #49493432, where the original text read:

"Birth: Sep. 4, 1739
Newbury
Essex County
Massachusetts, USA
Death: May 8, 1818
Campton
Grafton County
New Hampshire, USA
She was the daughter of Joseph & Frances (Usher) Parsons and the wife of Capt. Gershom Burbank. They married on November 20, 1760 in Chesterfield, New Hampshire.
Great Grandmother of Oren Burbank Cheney, founder of Bates College"

This information has been used by several applicants for membership in the Sons of the American Revolution. It, however, doesn't agree with the gravestone where the age at death (79-4-5) subtracted from the date of death places her date of birth as 4 Sep 1838 agreeing with Sedgley.

(2) Another source has Gershom Burbank marrying Anna PEARSON on 26 Nov 1760 Newbury MA. The appropriate section is copied in an attached photo.

It is claimed that this Anna was the dau. of Jonathan & Abigail (Knight) PEARSON. Some researchers found that the Byfield Church records indicate that Anna was baptized 27 Aug 1738 and agree she d. 9 Jan 1818 age 79 ys, 4 ms, 5 ds. This obviously is a problem having the baptism dated before the birth. More research is definitely needed.
