Saturday, April 9, 1932, at the quiet noon hour, the spirit of Confederate Veteran Rev. Samuel Napolean Little passed to the Great Beyond, at a ripe old age. He was born about 87 years ago in South Carolina, and when two years old he came to Georgia and was reared by friends in Macon County. He married Delilah Elender Miller in 1867, and to them were born ten children, seven still living. Rev. Little had been a minister of the Gospel for forty years, and was a member of New Prospect Freewill Baptist Church. He was highly esteemed in the community and county, and was one of the county's best citizens. He was a good business man and had accumulated valuable property. He served two years during the War Between the States, making a good record as a soldier. He is survived by five sons: T. J., Rev J. H., Rev. J. D, W. B., and J. A. Little of Ashburn; two daughters, Mrs. C. H. Culpepper of Sycamore and Mrs. L. C. Lawson of Tifton; sixty grandchildren and a host of great grandchildren.
The funeral was preached Sunday afternoon at Prospect Freewill Baptist Church, and conducted by Rev. W. L. Harrell of Tift County. Interment was in the nearby cemetery, by the side of his wife who preceeded him three and a half years. The Masons of which Order he had been a member for nearly half a century, had charge of the burial ceremony.
