Locally, Mrs. McKenna was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church, where she sang in the choir and taught Sunday School.
Two of her paintings, St. John the Baptist and St. John the Evangelist, hang on the rear wall of the church. She wrote romantic novels also. Her writing career began in 1939 and her painting career in 1941.
Her first art sales included pictures of Lancaster scenes and landmarks.
She is survived by son, James. of the home: one grandson; Ricky, brother, George Lake, Lancaster; two nephews, Robert Lake, Pompano Beach, Fla., Michael Lake, Santa Ana, Calif. Cremation will be Monday with arrangements by the Douglas Mortuary, El Segundo, Calif.
