Dempsey, Hal George A retired instrument supervisor and a resident of Baton Rouge, he died on Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2006, in Baton Rouge. He was 87, a native of Sullivan County, Tenn., and a U.S. Navy veteran. Visiting at Mr. Dempsey's residence, 8772 Sharlane Drive, on Thursday, Nov. 9, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. He is survived by a daughter, JoAnn Dempsey-Andis, Abingdon, Va.; stepdaughter, Kay Mitchell, Belvidere, Tenn.; a son, Don Hal Dempsey, Humble, Texas; a sister, Ruth Brown, Bristol, Tenn.; granddaughter, Vikki Carol Neil, Knoxville, Tenn.; and best friend, Chuck Lepisto. Preceded in death by his wife, Frances Genevieve Dempsey. Rabenhorst Funeral Home, 825 Government St., is in charge of arrangements.
