Mr. Josh Thompson, age 81 of the Iuka community near Calico Rock passed away Monday, March 8, 2010 at his home.

Josh Thompson was born December 21, 1920 in Eden, Idaho to Benjamin Harrison and Annie (Carter) Thompson.

He married June Moody on November 4, 1960 in Phoenix, Arizona.

He served in the US Army during the Korean War. Mr. Thompson was a journeyman carpenter and worked at Baxter Lab for 12 years. He loved hunting, fishing, and trapping. Josh was a member of the Iuka Church of Christ.

Mr. Josh Thompson is survived by his wife June Thompson of the home; 1 son, Jay (Stacy) Thompson of St. Louis, 3 daughters: Jenay (Kenneth) Mize of Mountain Home, Jana (David) Anderson of Iuka, and Jill (Cory) Irby of Iuka; 10 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; a sister, Myrtle Stone and brother Caleb Thompson. He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers: Harrison, Paul, and Jesse; and 1 sister, Annes Reed.

Funeral services were held at the Iuka Church of Christ with Brothers Noel Moore and Jeff Howard officiating. Burial was in Moody Cemetery at Iuka.
