Services for Delphene Young, 96, of Ralls will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, March 11, 2010 in the Ralls First United Methodist Church with John Prestridge officiating. Burial will be at 4:00 PM Thursday at the Rule Cemetery in Rule, Texas under direction of Adams Funeral Home of Ralls.

Delphene passed away Tuesday, March 9, 2010 at the Ralls Nursing Home. She was born November 22, 1913 in Rule, Texas to the late Andrew J. and Minnie Mae (Myatt) Dyches. She was a member of the St. Luke's United Methodist Church in Lubbock where she lived before moving to Ralls in 2001. Mrs. Young taught school in Alpine and Lubbock and even taught in a one room school in Early, Texas. She was a member of the Classroom Teachers Association.

A son, Burnett M. Young, preceded her in death on October 16, 1998.

Survivors include three daughters and their husbands; Chelsea and Truitt Read of Matador, Kay and John Prestridge of Tyler and Beth & William Igal of Ralls, six grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
