Good Woman Goes To Her Reward

Mrs Adeline Davis,probably the oldest resident of this section of Georgia
and who was promiment in its pioneer actives,dies at the home of her daughter,Mrs W.P Cobb,Sunday morning. Mrs Davis was born and reared in Appling County,being a daughter of Hon .Seaborn and Crissie Quinn Hall. She was twice married,her first husband being Col. Middelton Graham, a prominent attorney of his time. After his death,she was married to Prof.J.J Davis ,who proceded her to the grave about forty years ago. She is survived by one son J.W Graham,of Macon,and three daughter's Mrs A.C Darling,of Andalusia,Ala. Mrs W.C Sessoms and Mrs W.P Cobb,of Eastman,also several grandchildren and great granchildren. She was the mother of Judge Elisha Graham,of McRae,who proceded her to the grave five years ago.A short service was held at the home in Eastman Monday afternoon,following which the body was taken to her home in Graham,Georgia for interment. Funeral services were conducted in the Graham Methodist Church by Rev. J.S Davis and Rev. J .L Jones.The following served as palbearers W.D McCranie,C.C Burch,E.E Persons,J.I Harrell,J.W Bramblett and Harris Nicholson.
