Billy Ray Dobbins, 71, passed away on Sunday, March 7, 2010, at his home in Dublin, Va. He was a machinist and a United States Navy veteran. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph B. and Freeda A. Dobbins; and a brother, Ed Dobbins. Survivors include his wife, Peggy McGhinnis Dobbins; two sons & daughters-in-law, Brian & Barbie Dobbins, and Daren & Rhonda Dobbins; three grandchildren, Matthew Dobbins & his wife, Keri, and Nicole Dobbins and Brandon Dobbins; a great grandson, Lucas Dobbins; and a brother & sister-in-law, Jim & Vonda Dobbins. Funeral services will be held 7 p.m. on Wednesday, March 10, 2010, at the Fairlawn Church of God with the Rev. Jim Angle and the Rev. Terry Bowden officiating. The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until the time of the service on Wednesday at the church. Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. on Thursday, March 11, 2010, at the Highland Memory Gardens Mausoleum where members of VFW Post #776 will conduct Military Graveside Honors. The Dobbins family is in the care of Mullins Funeral Home & Crematory in Radford, VA.
