"World War I Nurse Dies; Rites Tuesday"
Mrs. Florence M. Atkinson, 73, 609 N. Horseman St., died at 3:10 p.m. Saturday in the Veterens Hospital, Madison, Wis. after a long illness.
She was a veteran of World War I, serving with the Army Nurse Corps in France for 13 months, she was a member of Emmanual Episcopal Church, Walter Craig Post No. 60 of the American Legion, American Legion Auxiliary and the World War I nurses club.
Survivors include three sisters, Lillian Hall, Rockford, Elsie Hall, and Mrs. Ada Fitter, both of England.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the Emmanuel Episcopal Church with burial in Greenwood cemetery.

Additional notes: Daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Thomas Hall. Lived 39 year in Rockford, coming here from Chicago. Married to Thomas Atkinson in Valdosta, Ga., Oct. 15, 1919, he died in 1966.
