A rosary will be recited for George Baker, 83, of Roswell at 5 p.m., Tuesday, March 9, 2010, at Anderson-Bethany Funeral Home.

A graveside service will be held for George, at 11:30 a.m., Saturday, March 13, 2010, at Terrace Heights Cemetery in Yakima, Wash., with Father Aaron Appleby officiating.

George was married to Frances Louise Emerson on July 3, 1953, in Reno, Nev.

George passed away Saturday, March 6, 2010.

George was born Dec. 31, 1926, in El Dorado Springs, Mo., to Edward Charles Baker and Anna Hamilton.

George was a member of Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church for 14 years.

Prior to that, his church family was in Longview, Wash. He was a mechanic and long-time contractor working on investments in missile silos.

George was the last surviving sibling of a family of 13 children.

He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his wife, Frances Baker, of Roswell; one son, Gary Baker; a granddaughter, Lauren Baker Neumann, and husband, Nicholas; and a grandson, Alexander Baker.

Pallbearers will be Gary Baker, Mark Emerson, Daniel Appleby, L.J. Rydberg, Alexander Baker, and Leon Rydberg.

Honorary pallbearers will be James Emerson and Joseph R. Fisher Jr.

The family would like to thank Vista Care Hospice for their special care. They would also like to extend a special "thank you" to Dr. Michael Grafe.

Services are under the direction of Anderson-Bethany Funeral Home & Crematory
