Edith Franklin

Mrs. Edith M. Franklin, 74, Route 2, died at her home at 10 a.m. Friday.

She was born in Pettis County, daughter of the late Joseph and Judith Broyles Van Dyke, Feb. 10, 1896.

She was married to Russell George Franklin, Jan. 16, 1916. He preceded her in death, March 31, 1962.

She was a member of the Pleasant Hill Methodist Church and a life long resident of Pettis County.

Mrs. Franklin is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Frank (Dorothy) Lappat, 900 South Madison; Mrs. Russell (Helen) McFatrich, Route 1; Mrs. Charles (Betty) Hickam, Route 2; fours sons, George D. Franklin, Route 2; Carl E. Franklin, 640 East Ninth; William E. Franklin, Ft. Lee, N.J.; Gary Lee Franklin, Little Rock, Ark.; two brothers, Frank Van Dyke, Smithton; Orville Van Dyke, Lincoln; 20 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, Robert Russell Franklin.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Heckart-Gillespie Funeral Home.

Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
