Deliverance Smith, eldest s. and child of John Smith and his 2nd wife Ruhamah Kirby, b. before Mar. 4, 1667/8 at Dartmouth, Mass. He d. at Dartmouth June 30, 1729. As a known Quaker, Deliverance is assumed to have been interred, without gravestone, at the private Smith Family Burying Ground at South Dartmouth, Mass.

By circa 1692, Deliverance m. Mary Tripp, dau. of Peleg Tripp and Anne Sisson, b. circa 1671 at Portsmouth, Rhode Island. She d. at Dartmouth, Mass. after Nov. 12, 1730.

Deliverance and wife Mary had ten children b. of record at Dartmouth, Mass., their second child being:

• ii. Deborah Smith, b. July 13, 1695, d. after Mar. 13, 1738/9; m. Sept. 20, 1716 under auspice of the Dartmouth meeting of the Society of Friends, Eleazer Slocum, Jr., s. of Eleazer Slocum and Eliphal Fitzgerald, b. Jan. 20, 1693/4 at Dartmouth, Mass. where d. testate betw. Jan. 18 and Mar. 13, 1738/9. Eight children of the family.
