Shirley V. Fuhrman, of Hanover, entered into God's eternal care, March 8, 2010.

Born August 29, 1948, in Thurmont, MD, she was the daughter of the late Ralph E. and Helen M. (Ridenour) Sharer.

Throughout her life, Shirley worked as a personal care nurse with VNA and as a secretary/ receptionist for Carroll County Social Services, TRX in New Oxford, most recently at Long & Foster Realtors where she also earned her real estate license. The job that fulfilled Shirley the most was being a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.

She was a member of Christ's American Baptist Church in Spring Grove. Shirley possessed a wonderful sense of humor and was loved by all who knew her. She enjoyed baking, crocheting, playing BINGO and darts, but most of all she loved having her family together.

Shirley was the loving wife of Rudolph A. Fuhrman, Sr., together they shared 42 wonderful years of marriage, and in addition to him, she leaves behind two daughters, Sherry L. Tester of Emmitsburg, MD, and Terri L. Fuhrman, of Hanover; two sons, James E. Fuhrman and Rudolph A. Fuhrman, Jr., both of Hanover; seven grandchildren, Kevin, Josh, Ashley, Cory, Brooke, Tonya, and Kaitlin; three great-grandchildren; a brother, Lloyd Sharer; and two sisters, Eva Miller and Janice Eyler, all of Emmitsburg, MD.

In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by a brother, Edward Sharer and a sister, Ann Cool.

Interment was in Rest Haven Cemetery.
