PFC Bobbie Lee Campbell

Beloved husband of Adda V. Campbell, they were married 12 Jan 1943. Bobbie passed away in 1990 at the age of 65.

PFC Campbell enlisted on 5 May 1943 and served with the U.S.Army as a medic in the 1303rd Engineer General Service Regiment. The regiment was activated on 15 July 1943 at Camp Ellis, Illinois. The Regiment played an important role during World War II, with campaign credit for: Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland, Ardennes-Alsace, Central Europe and the Asiatic-Pacific Theater. The Regiment was inactivated on 31 January 1946 in Japan. PFC Campbell received a Bronze Star, reportedly for rescuing wounded men from a minefield without the assistance of minesweepers, but he rarely spoke of it and never gave details.
