Grandfather is John George Heidt, I, Salzburger who came to Georgia Colony in 1749.

While no cemetery or burial records exist for Matthew Heidt, long held family recollection of direct descendants is that Matthew is buried at Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery, marked by six large flat rectangular stone blocks, many years later, bordered by red bricks, probably to keep the gray stones from being covered or grown over and forgotten about. Additionally, all of the land that the church and cemetery currently sits upon, originally was owned by Matthew's father Abiel Heidt, who upon his death, left it to his son Matthew Heidt. This grave is located by the marker for William Theodore and Jacksonia Zittrauer, with the head of this grave with the stones, near the foot of the Zittrauer grave. Near the center left of the cemetery with the church to your back.
