- Charles F Rainer, born 1845, was the son of John G Rainer, born 1821, and Mary Ann Wilkerson. He married Henrietta Clay Baskin, his stepsister.
- John G Rainer's parents were Charles Rainer (1794-1855) and Nancy Powell (1798-1849). John was killed during the Civil War. His widow, Mary Ann Wilkerson Rainer, remarried in 1873 John Baskin.
