Pearl was an excellent seamstress. She handmade a christening gown and slip for her son Milton Bowles McGinty that has been used in the McGinty family for over eighty years.
Pearl was baptized in 1888 at Bethel, Mississippi [per note that Pearl gave her daughter Evelyn]. Pearl died while visiting her sister Sybil at Noxapater, Mississippi.

"The Houston Chronicle," 7th December 1952. "MC GINTY, Lula Pearl McGinty, 73, of 3004 Leek, died at 12:30 P.M. in Noxapater, Miss. Was born in Houston, Miss., resident of Houston since 1918. Member of First Baptist Church. Survivors: Husband, Bradford McGinty; daughter, Miss Martha Evelyn McGinty; two sons, Bradford Burke McGinty, Milton Bowles McGinty, all of Houston; sister, Mrs. Homer Watkins, Noxapater, Miss., five grandchildren. Body will lie in state at First Baptist Church from 2 p.m. Sunday until time for services at 3 p.m., Dr. W. Boyd Hunt officiating. Burial in Forest Park. Pallbearers: Roy W. Cox, Arden Russell, O. J. Hubbard, Paul Landes, Franklin Ausley, J. B. McGinty. Honorary: Carl Rieman, W. A. McClendon, Dr. W. J. Bryan, Carlton Speed, Robert W. Henderson, John Dreaper, Fritz Wolfer. Settgast-Kopf Company."
