Adelle Wanda Morton, 88, passed away on March 5, 2010 after a courageous fight with congestive heart failure. She was born in Delaware, Ark. on Oct 19, 1921 to Jim & Nellie Cox.

An avid athlete, Adelle was a star basketball player during high school years as well as a cheerleader. She graduated from Spiro High School in 1940. On May 23, 1942 Adelle married Artelle Morton. They were soon known as "Ade & Art." Together they shared more than 51 years of a wonderful marriage and raising their daughter Carolyn.

Adelle retired from Wilson Foods in 1982. While working there she enjoyed bowling leagues. She loved to bowl and did quite well. Adelle took pride in everything she did. She always looked her best and made everything she did the best. Everything had to be just right and when she finished, it was just right.

Adelle's fight with CHF actually had been going on for several years, but she never gave up. She endured much pain, especially in her final days. Still she kept on fighting so that she might live longer to be with & help those she loved. Oh I do hope you were fortunate enough to have this beautiful lady touch your life. Not only beautiful on the outside, but on the inside as well- always caring & doing for others. We will deeply miss Adelle's presence on this earth.

Adelle is preceded in death by: her parents Jim and Nellie; husband Artelle; brother Everett Cox; sister Berenice Harvey; and sister-in-law Louise Baker.

She leaves wonderful memories behind with: daughter Carolyn Morava; grandson Greg Morava & wife Tracey; granddaughter Cari Smith & husband David; great grandson Cameron Smith; niece Wanda Johnson & husband Tom; nephews, Ralph Harvey and wife Maxine, and Jimmy Cox and wife Jeanette of Arkansas; sister-in-law Billie Edwards; and numerous other loving relatives & friends.

Adelle was a member of the SW Church of Christ. Now she is with her Lord & Savior & all of her pain is gone. When God made my mother He made an angel. She was always there for me, a shoulder to lean on & a heart to rely on. Mother loved angel pins and always wore one. I can almost see her looking down at me from Heaven wearing one of her many angel pins. She is truly my Angel!
