FORT WORTH - Jerry Lawrence Strittmatter, 45, a commissioned examiner for the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas, passed away on Thursday, Nov. 26, 1998, at a Fort Worth hospice house.

Mass of Christian Burial: 10 a.m. Monday at St. Andrew Catholic Church. Burial: Mount Olivet Cemetery. Visitation: the family will receive friends beginning at 3 p.m. Sunday at Thompson's Harveson & Cole. Vigil: 4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be his brothers, Edward, Kirk, Earl, Glenn, Chris, Kevin and Mark Strittmatter, and Joey Cisneros and Robert Fernandez.

Memorials: The Community Hospice of Texas for the Hospice House, 1000 Summit Ave., Fort Worth, 76102, a non-profit organization, or the AIDS Outreach Center, 801 W. Cannon Ave., Fort Worth, 76104.

Jerry Lawrence Strittmatter was born Oct. 8, 1953, the fifth child of 10 born to Walter and Juanita Strittmater.

A graduate of Texas Wesleyan University and the Southwest Banking Institute, Jerry had worked for the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas as a commissioned examiner. He was selected Outstanding Young Man of America for 1986. He was former director of community affairs in the Fort Worth Junior Chamber of Commerce of which the Fort Worth Christmas Tree and Miss Fort Worth Pageant were under his direction.

He was a member of the American Institute of Banking, Retail Merchants Association and the National Association of Credit Management. While in college at Texas Wesleyan, he served as president of his freshman class and secretary in Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity, where he was awarded Best Active and Best Alumni.

He participated in softball, golf and baseball. For several years he coached a Junior Hockey League in Arlington. For more than 10 years, Jerry enjoyed working as a camp counselor for the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

Survivors: Parents, Walter E. and Juanita Strittmatter; sisters, Cheryl Ablon and her husband, Jack, of Lewisville and Virginia Cope of Fort Worth; brothers, Edward and his wife, Sherri, of Fort Worth, Kirk and his wife, Kathy, of Grapevine, Earl of Mansfield, Glenn and his wife, Terry, of Fort Worth, Chris and his wife, Judy, of Colleyville, Kevin, of Fort Worth and Mark and his wife, Julie, of Fort Worth; six nieces; six nephews; two great-nieces; three great-nephews; and his godparent, Helen Strittmatter, of Lake Worth.
