"The Castilian" dated 6/30/1949: Levi A. Cass 86, newspaper editor and publisher died Friday June 24, 1949 at his home in Warsaw. Mr. Cass had been publisher in Warsaw since October, 1906 when he leased the Western New Yorker. He developed the Wyoming County Combination of Newspapers, acquiring besides the Western New Yorker, The Wyoming County Times, (Warsaw), The Attica News, The Wyoming Reporter, the Wyoming County Gazette (Pike), and the Silver Springs Signal. Funeral was held Monday morning at 11 oclock am from his home with burial in Warsaw Cemetery. Rev. Thomas A. Ashbury, pastor of the United Church officiating. Mr. Cass, a son of George Bailey and Catherine Ann Cass was born January 30, 1863 in Tontogeny, Ohio. He was married on July 5, 1892 to Dell Chadwick who survives. He is also survived by one daughter, Mrs. Catherine C. Drum, wife of A.B. Drum of Long Beach, California; one son, L. Aldrich Cass, IV, of Warsaw. 4 grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Lucy LaBlonde, Warsaw.
