Arthur Christian Krogh, son of Christian Jens and Anna M. Krogh, was born February 15, 1913, at Ruskin, Nebraska, and departed this life at Huntington Park, California, on January 28, 1980, at the age of 66 years, 11 months and 13 days.

The fourth of five children, Arthur grew to manhood in the Ruskin community. At age 12 he was confirmed in the Christian faith at Bethany Lutheran Church of Ruskin.

January 29, 1939, he was united in marriage with Julia Kleven at Superior. In the fall of that same year the young couple moved to Lincoln where Arthur entered the University of Nebraska College of Agriculture from which he graduated in the spring of 1941. Following his graduation he was employed by the United States Department of Agriculture and the United States Army Corp of Engineers.

May 15, 1943, Arthur was commissioned an Ensign in the United States Navy and saw service around the world in the American Theatre, the Asiatic-Pacific Campaign, the European Theatre and the Phillipine Operation. He was twice decorated by his grateful nation for his devotion to country.

August 16, 1946, he was released from active service with an honorable discharge and placed on inactive duty with the United States Navy Reserve with the rank of Full Lieutenant.
Following his discharge from the Navy, Arthur, with his wife Julia, established a home in Huntington Park, California. At this time he attended and was graduated from the Huntington Park School of Business as a licensed public accountant.

He was a member of the Nelson Lodge No. 77 A.F. & A.M.; a life member of A and A Scottish Rite of Freemasonry, Valley of Los Angeles, ________ of California; and Guardian Chapter No. 439 Order of Eastern Star, South Gate, California.

Arthur had been in ill health for 20 years, but retained a cheerful attitude toward life, enjoying to the fullest the companionship of his wife, Julia; many dear and close friends, and an abiding interest in the work of the Masonic Lodge. His life was centered around his love for God and an enduring faith of the nation which he had served in full measure.

He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Julie Kleven Krogh; one sister, Wilma Cochran of Omaha; six nieces and 12 nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, February 2, at the Montgomery-Williams Funeral Home with the Rev. Marion H. Knoell, pastor of the First United Methodist Church officiating. Masonic services were given by Nelson Lodge No. 77 with interment in Evergreen Cemetery at Superior.

Out of town friends and relatives attending the services were Gertrude Skinner of Hastings, Joe Lundsgaard, and Conrad Lundsgaard, both of Cherokee, Iowa; Walter Lundsgaard, Minneapolis, Minnesota; Lester and Rosa Krogh of St. Paul, Minnesota; Dr. and Mrs. Robert Cochran, Omaha, Dr. and Mrs. Duane Frederickson, Julie and Scott, Lindsborg, Kansas; Zelda and Harold Harris, St. Louis, Missouri, Marjorie Steckelm, York; Mrs. Clara Krogh, Windsor, Missouri; Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Krogh, Springfield, Missouri; and Mr. and Mrs. James Krogh and Stephen, Denver, Colorado.
