Private graveside services for Lucille Nora Brown, 89, of Temple will be in Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen.

Mrs. Brown died Saturday, March 6, in a local nursing home.

She was born on July 7, 1920, to Albert and Irene Tremblay Godin in Haverhill, Mass. She was a 1938 graduate of Salem High School in Massachusetts. She received nurse's training from Holy Ghost Hospital in Boston, Mass. On June 10, 1944, she married Walter Marion Brown Jr. in Pine Bluff, Ark. She served in the U.S. Army/U.S. Women's Army Corps (WAC) during World War II as a surgical technician. She later worked at the old King's Daughters Hospital, and Scott & White Memorial Hospital and Women's Clinics. In 1985, she retired as an LVN after 27 years. She was a member of St. Luke Catholic Church in Temple.

Survivors include her husband of Temple; a son, Paul Brown of Temple; four sisters, Elizabeth Chase of Oak Brook, Ill., Jean Hughs and Cynthia Bouchard, both of Middleton, Mass., and Ruthie Forget of Pompano Beach, Fla.; a grandson; and a great-grandson.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. today at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Temple
