*"Adam was one of the volunteers in the Civil War, enlisting in Company A, 17th Wisconsin, at the age of 17 years, serving from 1861 to 1865 until the close of the war. Few man saw more actual service than he as he traversed over eleven states and was in many of the important battles and went with Sherman on his march to the sea. He saw actual service in the slege of Vicksburg, the battle of Corinth, Millinkan's Bend, Champion Hill, slege of Atlanta and battle of Atlanta. He has lived ever and ever in memory of the four hard years of hardship and struggles that only those who have been in actual service in war can understand. While he was not wounded in a single conflict, yet here he arrived at the age of middle life the effects of the exposure of those years began to show and for over forty years he has been crippled and a constsnt sufferer from rheumatism.

We cannot pay too high an honor to men who served and serve our country. Our flag is sacred to them. The principle they fought for should always be maintained at all costs. Mr. Domek was always loyal to his country, his flag, his home and his church."
