Elizabeth Trilling Geise

Elizabeth died in a house fire. It was believed that a lamp that was left burning for her (as she had been ill in bed for some time), either exploded or was overturned.

She acted as a housekeeper for her son Charles after the death of his wife and helped care for her grandchildren Edward, Joseph, Amelia and Louise Geise.

Elizabeth was survived by three sons, Christian and Gregory of Bennington, Charles of Washington D.C. and a daughter who lives in Allegany, N.Y.

Son Charles Geise of Washington, D.C. died August 20, 1908 in that city. He was about 48 years old and leaves a wife, two brothers Christ and Gregory of Bennington, a sister Mrs. Joseph Mohr of Allegany, Pa., and two half brothers, Anthony of Bennington and Philip of Fredonia.
Funeral services were held at Washington and interment took place in that city.
