CENTRAL CITY - Ethelyne Elizabeth Streets, 86, of Central City, died at 9:40 a.m. Friday, Feb. 9, 2007, at her home here.
She was born in Webster County on Feb. 18, 1920. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Central City. She graduated from Sebree High School in 1938 and attended Transylvania University in Lexington. She was a registered Nurse, graduating from Owensboro/Daviess County School of Nursing in 1943, and she was a former public health nurse for the Muhlenberg County Health Department. She was a former board member of Pennyroyal Mental Health and Retardation in Hopkinsville and she was active in the National Association for Mental Illness. She was also a former board member of Muhlenberg County Opportunity Center.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Milton and Augusta Ashby; and 2 brothers, Derrell Ashby and Charles Ashby.
Survivors include her husband, Harold Mason Streets; one son, Harold Mason Streets, Jr. of Central City; and two brothers and sister-in-law, Wendell and Diane Ashby of Sebree and Frank and Genevee Ashby of Dulth,GA.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City with the Rev. Bob Lowery officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery in Central City.
