Harold F. Deck, partner of the Willis-Sellers Company of Wellston, passed away Saturday evening, September 7, at 5 o'clock at Holzer Hospital where he had been taken earlier in the week with pneumonia. Mr. Deck was in business with Wendell Willis who died suddenly 8 days previously. The two men were authorized dealers for the Plymouth Chrysler Motor products.
Mr. Deck was ill for only one week.
He ws the formaer manager of WKOV Radio station before his affiliation with Willis-Sellers. He was also a former employee of the Gaskill Funeral Service.
Mr. Deck was born in Glenroy on December 20, 1923, the son of Albert Deck and Lacy Richard Deck, both deceased. He was a life-time resident of Jackson County. He graduated from Coalton High School in 1941.
Mr. deck was a member of the Masonic Lodge of Wellston and attended the First Baptist Church of this city.
He was married to the former Marth McGarvey twenty-five years ago. Mrs. Deck is a teacher's aid at South School.
Besides his wife he leaves three children, Mrs. Mike (Judy) Holtz of Wellston, Brenda Deck, who is attending the Columbus Business School, and Frankie, 10yrs, a fifth grade student at Central School.
Also surviving are four brothers and three sisters, William Deck of Franklin Furnace,Charles of Rt.2 Wellston, Allison of Coalton, and Tom Deck, Wellston; Mrs. Anna Shook, Coalton, Mrs. Mary Brooks, Rt.2 Wellston and Mrs. Flora Kleinhans of Chillicaothe. One sister is deceased.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday morning at 10 o'clock at the Gaskill Chapel with Rev. Donald Hall and Rev. John Currens officiating. Burial will be made in Ridgewood Cemetery under the direction of Charles N. Gaskill.
