Violet M Sanders, 80, formerly of 16 Charles St., Hanover, a guest at Green Acres, Gettysburg for two weeks, died Monday, Sept. 11, (1995) at the Gettysburg Hospital.
Born in Adams County, she was a daughter of the late Eugene and Emma Hockensmith Weaver. She was preceded in death by er husband, John F. Sanders, in 1950.
She was a retired employee of the Hanover Evening Sun where she was a part-time helper. She was a member of St. Vincent Catholic Church, Hanover.
She is survived by four daughters, Gwendolyn M. Strausbaugh of McSherrystown, Theresa C. Hartlaub and Joan P. O'Donnell, both of Hanover, and Rosalie E. Yingling of Bradenton, Fla.; two sons, Kenneth F. Sanders of New Oxford, and Thomas P. Sanders of Hendersonville, Tenn.; 35 grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; one sister, Gwendolyn Livelsberger of Hanover; and one brother, Norbert Weaver of Littlestown.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, Sept. 14, meeting at the Hicks Funeral Home, McSherrystown at 8:30 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Vincent Church at 9 a.m. The Rev. Bernard Quinn will be celebrant. Interment will be in Annunciation Cemetery, McSherrystown.
