Jerry Marcus Kesterson, 30, of 1200-1 Manchester Apartments, died at UVA Medical Center in Charlottesville at 9 a.m. Friday, Jan. 22, 1982. He was born Aug. 29, 1951 in Augusta County, a son of Charles P. and Frances Cline Kesterson.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Sarah Louise Via Kesterson, two daughters, Misty Dawn Kesterson and Christina Michelle Kesterson, both at home; one brother Roy W. Kesterson of Staunton; six sisters, Mrs. Sharon Niday of Mulberry, Donna Kesterson and Mrs. Rebecca Gregory both of Staunton, Mrs. Nancy Taylor of Route 1, Staunton, Mrs. Sarah Lee Helmick of Route 6, Staunton, and Mrs. Joyce Armstrong of Route 5, Staunton.
A service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday in Henry Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Dr. Lindsay Howan, with burial in Thornrose Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Jerry Jackson, James Harris, Russell Eckard, Dennis Corin, James Koogler and David Campbell. Honorary pallbearers will be Ricky Taylor, Jeff Miller, Tommy Marshal, Kirk Kimble, Timmy Jackson and Jack Via. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home and at other times at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Charles P. Kesterson, 2002 Noon Street.
