Mrs. Eliza J. Hensley, wife of Mr. George E. Hensley, died at the home of Mr. Hensley, 209 W. Main St., at 6:45 a.m. aged 66 years. Her health began to fail about Christmas and she had been indisposed for two months.

The funeral will be held in the Central M.E. church, South, at 10 o'clock Wednesday morning, conducted by the pastor, Rev. H.H. Sherman, and burial will be in Thornrose cemetery.

Mrs. Hensley was Miss Eliza J. Smith, and was born in Rockbridge county in 1847. Before coming to Staunton eighteen years ago, Mr. and Mrs. Hensley resided at Spottswood for a number of years. For forty years of her life she had been a consistent Christian, a member of the Methodist church, and in Staunton she was a member of the Central church. All of her children were with her when she died. They are as follows: Mrs. J.W. Printz, of Staunton; Mrs. George Cox of Covington; Mr. Edwin H. Hensley of Richmond; Mr. Walter L., of Florida; Mr. Howard N., of Staunton; and Mr. Oliver G. Hensley of Richmond. The wife of Mr. Walter L. Hensley and the wife of Mr. Oliver G. Hensley are also here. Mrs. Hensley was a loving and tender wife and mother, and a devoted friend, faithful in all the relations of life.
