Funeral services were held on Saturday, March 29, at 2 p.m. in the Colonial Funeral Home Chapel for George Hyrum 'Buck' Webb, age 72, of Columbia, who died March 26 in Columbia. Interment was in the Advance Cemetery. Reven Valton Douglas officiated at the service assisted by Rev. Mike Green. Visitation was held Friday, March 28, for 5 p.m. -- 9 p.m. at Colonial Funeral Home. A native of Slidell, LA he was a retired landscaper, painter and carpenter and a member of North Columbia Baptist Church and served in the United States Navy.
He was preceded in death by his parents Lester Delancey and Rose Marie Ouder Webb and his brother Glen R. Webb.
Survivors include; wife, Doris Webb of Columbia; daughters Sandra Dainne Webb of Sumrall, Patricia Darlene Webb Moore of Spring, TX, Regina Marie Webb of Ocean Springs and Shelia Lynn Webb Pruitt of Oxford; Sons, Steven Michael Webb of University; sisters, Evelyn Haas of Salt Lake City UT, Barbara Jones of Pearl River, LA, Gloria Reeves of Slidell, LA and Mary Alice Newman of Lacombe, LA., 17 grandchildren and a number of nieces, nephews and their relatives and friends.
Paulbearers: Joshua Pace, Jonathan Dettenhaim, David Moore, Albert Morgan, Mark Bond and Ricky Griggs.
Colonial Funeral Home was in charge of the services.
