The Halverson family has used two similar but different last names. They used the last name of Halvorson at one time and then the family later changed their last name to Halverson. While they used the last name of Halverson in their daily life they continued to use the spelling of Halvorson on their grave stones. The Halverson children and some of their grandchildren continued this practice into the 1940's and this has created problems with listing memorials on Find A Grave. If I list the memorial as Halvorson a search for them as Halverson doesn't locate them and vise versa. If I list the memorials with a dash, slash or the word or in-between the names Find A Grave still only finds the first name used. So I've had to make a memorial using each last name so that they will be found under either spelling.

In the early census his name is Royal Elmer. On his WWI Draft Registration Card he signed his name as Royal Elmer. He went by Elmer and his grave stone has his name as Elmer R.
