Henry was born in Joplin, MO later he lived in Colorado for years then they moved to GA prior to his passing.

Longtime Colorado resident, Henry Townsend Wilson, Jr., 87, of Acworth, GA died Wednesday, July 23rd.

Lt. Col. Wilson grew up in Tulsa, OK graduating from Central High School and studied pre-med at Westminster College. Wanting to serve his country, he enlisted in the Army-Air Corps during WWII. He began his military career flying P-49s, B-25s, and B-17s, then B-24s, C-87s, and C-109s over the Himalaya's (The Hump) into China.

He participated in the Berlin Airlift while stationed at Hickham, AFB, in Honolulu where he met his wife. He graduated from Air Command and Staff College, flew B-36s and B-52s. His wing won the Fairchild Trophy. He retired after 24 years of service as an Air Force pilot.

Well-known as a fine golfer with a scratch handicap and a good storyteller. A devoted husband and father, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Cheri Ann Anderson. He is survived by his wife, Mildred Lucile Wilson, Acworth, GA; daughter, Marty Arrington, Powder Springs, GA; brother, Thomas D. Wilson, Tulsa, OK; 8 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

Private memorial services were held in Georgia.
