The 1900 census shows she and Jacob married for 50 years.
She and Jacob had immigrated from Bohemia ( Austria ) in 1859. At this time, 9 of 12 children were still living.

The vicinity was again called to mourning the news of the death of Mrs. Mary Zajic, one of the old settlers of this county. Death came Saturday evening, August 21, shortly after five o'clock after a short illness. The deceased was born in Bohemia, Europe in 1830, was married to Jacob Zajic in 1850 and came to the United States with her husband and three children in 1858 locating near Waterville, Minnesota.
The family moved to Kansas in 1878 locating on a farm north of Palacky where Mrs. Zajic made her home until the time of her death. Her husband preceded her to the Great Beyond in April 1908. Mrs. Zajic would have been 85 years old on the 15th of next month and was a patient sufferer, being totally blind for the past three years.
During her entire life she was a devoted wife and mother and leaves no one behind whose ill will she incurred. She always made it a rule to speak well of her neighbors or not at all. She is survived by nine children: Joseph, Frank, Wenslow, Louis, Henry and Mesdames Thos. Walsh, W.C. Pvrsell [Pursell], Lizzie Sargam and Chas. Bohne.
