MRS, HOFFMAN, KNOWN TO CURB PATRONS, DIES
Quaker Valley Resident Dies at 12:30 O'CIock This Afternoon.
ILL 2 MONTHS; 53 YEARS OLD
Mrs. Nettie Ray (Jobe) Hoffman, 53, wife of William. Calvin Hoffman, Quaker Valley, Aspers R. 2, died at her home at 12:30 o'clock this afternoon, following an illness of two months of complications. During her last illness, Mrs. Hoffman spent ten days at the University of Maryland hospital. Baltimore, returning home October 16.
Mrs. Hoffman was known to every lover of flowers in Gettysburg and Adams county. She and Mr. Hoffman were regular attendants at Gettysburg's curb market, selling flowers and plants along with farm products.
Born Near York Springs
Mrs. Hoffman was born near York Springs, a daughter of Mrs. Fanny Jobe, of York Springs, and the late William P. Jobe, and had always resided in Adams county.
The deceased was a life-long member of the Bendersville Methodist Episcopal church.
Surviving besides her mother and husband are one daughter. Miss Burdette Hoffman, at home; one son, Martin Hoffman, Aspers, and the following brothers and sisters: Mrs. John Stallsmith, York Springs; Mrs. Russell Bentz, Camp Hill; Mrs. Frank Heller, Mechanicsburg; Mrs. William Stevanua, Fulton, Kansas; Mrs. Gettysburg; Elmer Myra Houck, Jobe, Sterling, Colorado; Charles, Edwin and Ivan Jobe, all of Covena. California, and Walter Jobe. of Toronto. Canada. Two grandchildren also survive.
Funeral On Friday Funeral services from the home of her son, Martin Hoffman, Aspers, Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock, the Rev. O. D. Coble, pastor of the Bendersville Lutheran church, officiating.
Interment in the Bendersville cemetery.
Friends in Gettysburg may call at the Bender funeral home, Wednesday evening from 7 to 9 o'clock. Friends in the upper end of the county may can at the Martin Hoffmans home, Thursday evening from 7
