Born in Orwell Vermont, one of eight children. Spouse Noah R. Sage, born 1804 in Pennsylvania, a wagon maker, who died in Missouri on 22 August 1872.

Mrs. Hannah Sage died Wednesday, Aug 16, 1905, at the age of 101 years, 2 months and 26 days. Hannah Bisby was born May 21, 1804, at Orwell, Vermont being one of a family of eight children. In 1830 she married Noah R. Sage they moved to Conncantville, Pennsylvania; to Macomb County, Michigan in 1843; to Woodstock Illinois, in 1848; to Burr Oak, Iowa in 1852; to Atchison County, Missouri., in 1869. Here her husband died Aug 22,1872. In 1873 Mrs Sage came to Turner County, South Dakota with her two sons, Almond and Albert all of them living on homesteads, her claim being a quarter section in Middletown township. This she sold in 1879 and since then has resided with her daughter, Mrs. John Ervin, at whose home she died. Mrs.Sage leaves three children, Albert Sage, and Mrs John Ervin, of Parker, and Dr. A. B. Sage, now in Tennessee. Besides these there are 15 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren, and 4 great great grandchildren. The funeral service will be held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John Ervin today at 3 p.m. Rev. C. N. Patterson will conduct the services. Grandma Sage has been nearly helpless for several years but has been patient and loving through it all. And at all times she recieved the utmost care and attention from her daughter, Mrs. Ervin, who, with the other loved ones has done all within human power to make the closing years of this useful life pleasant ones. Surely the reward for devotion and loyalty of this kind will be great. After those many many years of journeying through this world of strife, may the departed sprit of our dear old Grandma Sage find a sweet resting place. The deceased was one of the three oldest persons living in the state, each of them being over a hundred years old.
