Cumberland Co., Pa. He died 3 October 1856, in 86th year, buried Emanuel
Lutheran and Reformed Churchyard. Resided Liberty Valley, Perry Co., Pa.

CONRAD RICE, SR., was a native of Chester County, Pa., and was a farmer. He removed to Saville Township, Perry County, becoming one of its first residents. Some years later he went to Juniata County, where he passed the remainder of his days, and died in 1855. He was married twice, his first wife being Miss Foose, a native of Perry County; they had five children: Samuel; William; Margaret (Mrs. Frederick Shell [Shull]); Sarah (Mrs. Michael Ickes); and Conrad. The mother of these children died in Saville Township, and Mr. Rice then married Miss Catharine Stoney [Stowe], of Cumberland County, Pa. He was a Democrat. He attended the Lutheran church.
