Christina A. Lane, 87, passed away June 20, 2009, in Townsend.

Christina was born Aug. 3, 1921, in Clarkston. The fourth child of August and Barbara Rohla, she was raised in Clarkston and attended high school in Manhattan.

Christina was married to Alvin E. "Bud" Lane. They resided in Willow Creek, Three Forks and Billings. She was a homemaker, mother and bookkeeper for Bud's construction business.

Chris was employed by Yellowstone County and St. Vincent's Hospital during her time in Billings. She enjoyed being outside and spent many hours working in her yard and caring for her plants. In her youth she enjoyed riding horseback in the hills around Clarkston searching for cattle, and swimming in the Missouri River on hot days. Her favorite stories revolved around her children, ranch life and working in the family business. She enjoyed the time she spent with her sons working on the ranch, helping with 4-H projects, hunting trips and watching them play high school basketball.

Her love of horses, calves and dogs never left her, she always enjoyed getting out to see the new colts and calves in the spring. In her later years she also enjoyed going for rides with her friends in the spring and fall to see the changes in the seasons in the mountains.

Christina is survived by one sister, Maguerite McInerny of Colfax, Wash.; sons, William R. (Marilyn) of Toston, Ronald D. (Betsy) of Virginia City, and Edward R. (Ana) of Covina, Calif., as well as grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Christina was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bud; sister, Barbara Dial; brothers, Ernest and Ted; and grandson, John Lane.

Cremation has taken place. A memorial graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 15, at Mount Green Cemetery in Willow Creek.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.

K&L Mortuaries & Crematory of Three Forks is assisting with arrangements.
