Bert J. Barnett

Bert J. Barnett, 97, Elizabethton, formerly of 211 Stockton Road, Roan Mountain, died Monday, Aug. 26, 2002, at Life Care Center of Elizabethton following an
extended illness.
A native of Carter County, he was a son of the late Mitchell and Launa Thomas Barnett. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Bonnie Belle Hamilton Barnett,
on Jan. 13, 1999, and one son, Leslie Barnett, in 1994.
Mr. Barnett was a member of Cove Creek Presbyterian Church. He was a retired carpenter.
Survivors include a daughter, Wynona Holland, Elizabethton, a son and daughter-in-law, Robert Wayne and June Barnett, Elizabethton, four grandsons,
Joel Holland, Elizabethton, Leslie Barnett Jr. and Benjamin Barnett, both of Charlottesville, Va., and Danny Barnett, Hillsville, Va., four granddaughters,
Cheryl Snapp and Andrea Regan, both of Knoxville, Tenn., Linda Barnett, New York City, and Susan Shelton, Dallas, Texas, four great-grandsons,
six great-granddaughters, and several nieces and nephews.

BARNETT -- Funeral services for Bert J. Barnett, 97, formerly of 211 Stockton Road, Roan Mountain, who died Monday, Aug. 26, 2002, will be conducted at 7 p.m.
Wednesday at Tetrick Funeral Home of Roan Mountain in the Rhododendron Chapel with the Rev. Roger Stocton, Mr. Spence Stocton and the Rev. Tull Oaks
officiating. Music will be under the direction of the Stocton Trio. The graveside service and interment will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Barnett Cemetery in
Roan Mountain. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Honorary pallbearers will be the staff of Life Care Center of Elizabethton and
friends and neighbors of Cove Creek Community. Those who plan to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the cemetery at 9:55 a.m. Thursday.
The family will receive friends from 5:30-7 p.m. Wednesday at Tetrick Funeral Home of Roan Mountain in the Rhododendron Chapel or at the homeplace,
