Mr. Smith first wife died several years ago (Dorothy May Wells).
Surviving are his second wife, Betty Louise Smith; a son, L. B. Smith Jr., Pittsburgh, who succeeded his father as president of Thorofare but left the firm two years and; a daughter, Mrs James G. Lee Oakmont; five grandchildren and a sister, Mrs.. Mary Walter, Woodsfield, Ohio.
Funeral will be held in Sarasota at the Toale, Funeral Home, 440 N. Orange Ave.
