Donna Lee Penney, of Soddy-Daisy, Tenn. passed away Thursday, March 4, 2010, and went home to be with our Lord and her husband, B.T. Penney, who preceded her in death.

She was also welcomed with open arms from our Lord God, Jesus Christ, her father, James Clayton Brown, and her mother, Johnnie B. Bice. She was a graduate of Baylor University in 1961. She married B.T. Penney in 1964 and together they had several businesses including Penney's Package Store, Bay Shore Restaurant, and Penney's Restaurant. She was well known in the community and loved by everyone. She loved her family with all her heart and couldn't be prouder of her sons. Her life revolved around her family. She enjoyed a good joke, and loved to play pranks on people. She loved looking over the lake from her house and watching the beautiful sunsets. She loved fishing when she could and was a very good bowler, and she was loved by all who knew her and will be missed.

She leaves behind her sons, Tracey Joe Penney, and Steve Randall Lewis; grandson, Bryer Thomas Penney; granddaughter, Misty Petite; grandson, Randy Lewis; several great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, her half sister, Connie Brown Hovis, and her half brother, Dale Brown were bright lights in her life and she loved their visits as well as nieces and nephews being around.

The love of a mother will never die,
We will never forget you, we cannot lie.
You were known as being gentle but at times stern.
That look could make you smile or hide.
We are the people we are because of you.
Your spirit lives in us and shows in what we do,
Your smile and twinkle in your eyes lit up the sun.
You were both strong and gentle yet witty and fun.
Many will miss you, now that you are gone.
You will never be forgotten, your memory will live on.
We will shed tears and feel sorrow,
Today's thoughts and prayers, will get us though the tomorrows.
Go rest and be at peace.
Your pain is now more happiness than any of us can fathom.

We love you Donna very much and you know we will all be together in our own times.

Funeral service will be 12:30 p.m. Monday in the funeral home chapel with Dr. Carl Hunsucker officiating.

Interment will follow the service at Chattanooga National Cemetery.

Family will receive friends from 3-9 p.m. today and from 3-9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Arrangements are by Williamson and Sons Funeral Home, 8852 Dayton Pike, Soddy-Daisy, TN.
