Rites Monday for Sergeant
Graveside services for M. Sgt. Arthur D. Brookman, 42, brother-in-law of Mrs. Carl O. Anderson of Salem, will be at 2 pm Monday at Belcrest Memorial Park under the direction of Clough-Barrick funeral home.
Brookman, who had planned to retire in Salem, died May 30 at Richland, Wash.
He was born March 8, 1913 in Bluford, Ill., and had spent the past 18 years in the Army, being a veteran of both World War II and Korea.
He leaves the widow, Mrs. Virgie Lee Brookman, and son Charles, both of Richland; several sisters and brothers in Illinois and Missouri.
Memorial services were held at Camp Hanford, Wash., the post where Sgt. Brookman was in the ordnance section.
