Arthur W. Allnutt Dies: Veteran Insurance Man
Arthur W. Allnutt, 51, an employee of the People Life Insurance Co. for 33 years, died Sunday at his home, 614 Farragut Street, N.W.
Mr. Allnutt was born in Dawsonville, Md. He began his life insurance career at the age of 18 in the Washington branch office of Peoples Life. During his long tenure with the company he worked as an agent, superintendent and special writer.
Mr. Allnutt was a member of Columbia Masonic Lodge, No. 3, and the Lewis Memorial Methodist Church, Fourth and Hamilton streets, N.W.
He leaves his wife, Mrs. Elzey D. Allnutt, and three brothers, J. F. Allnutt, 8806 Colesville road, Silver Spring, Md.; Edwin R. Allnutt, Dawsonville, and Smith W. Allnutt, Burtonsville, Md.
Funeral services were to be held at 1 p.m. today in the Hines funeral home, 2901 Fourteenth street N.W. Burial was to be in Monocacy Cemetery, Beallsville, Md.
