Disher graduated from St. Stanislaus Parochial school, then from PJ Jacobs High School in 1937. He attended Central State college for two years before entering the Army Air Corp in 1940.
He trained at Randolph and Kelly Fields, in Texas, flew B-17 and B-24 bombers in the China-Burma-India theater and returned to the United States to train B-24 bomber crews. He retired from the U.S. Air Force in 1970 as a colonel and later retired from Banks Reality in Indialantic, Florida.
He was survived by his wife, four children, five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
