She was born Nov. 30, 1917, in Cumberland, Md., and was the daughter of the late Leo Lawler and Lillian-Marie Laing Lawler.
She was of the Catholic faith, was very close to the Blessed Mother and was a member of the Third Order of the Franciscans. She loved children and ocean cruises.
She is survived by three sons, John Anthony Busch Jr., of Wesley Chapel, Fla., Charles Andrew Busch, of Rockville, Md., and Joseph G. Busch, of Bethesda, Md.; six daughters, Elizabeth Victoria Gwinn, of Henderson, N.C., Laura Laing Vedaa, of Charles Town, Mary Ryan Poston, of Florence, S.C., Michell Busch, of Charles Town, Julia A. Hodges, of Norfolk, Va., and Lillian Marie Busch, of Durham, N.C.; 20 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Anthony Busch Sr., on Oct. 5, 1992; one infant son, Tommy Busch; three brothers; and two sisters.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 16, 2008, at St. James Catholic Church, 60 Crosswinds Drive, Charles Town, with the Rev. Father Brian Owens as celebrant. Interment will be in Arlington National Cemetery at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2008.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Eackles-Spencer & Norton Funeral Home, U.S. 340 at Halltown Road, Charles Town/Harpers Ferry.
