Houston—Ashley Gwen Porter, age 14, died Wednesday, Sept. 11 1996 at Trace Regional Hospital. Funeral services were held Friday, Sept 13 at Houston Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in Macedonia Cemetery with the Rev. Bobby Brock, Elder Charles Porter and the Rev. Jessie King officiating.

The daughter of the late William Henry Porter II and the late Brenda Lee King, she was born May 3 1982 in Amory. She was a ninth grade student at Houston Junior High School and was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church.

Survivors include one brother, Will Porter and her maternal grandparents, Billy and Dorothy King, all of Houston.

Pallbearers were Johnny Butler, Rusty King, Jerry Higginbotham, Jr., Chuck King, David Higginbotham and Brad Brown.

Houston Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
