Served in World Wars I and II. Professor of Ordnance and Gunnery at West Point 1929-33. Commanded Rock Island Arsenal 1934-37, and Watervliet Arsenal 1940-45. Chief of Industrial Service of Ordnance, Dept. of the Army May 1945-Dec 1946. Retired from active duty Dec 31, 1946 after 44 years and 6 months service. Awarded Distinguished Service Medal and Legion of Merit.
