She died Saturday, Jan. 1, 2005, at The Regional Medical Center in Orangeburg. She was the daughter of the late John Pinckney and Texanna Hayden Davis. She was a graduate of Neeses High School. She was a homemaker and was an active member of Lebanon United Methodist Church.

She was the widow of James Leslie Fanning Sr. Survivors include two sons, Mr. James L. (Gloria) Fanning Jr. of Neeses and Mr. David Wayne Fanning of Jackson; four daughters, Mrs. Margaret (Ernest) Bair of Orangeburg, Mrs. Jimmie (Homer) Edgemon of Orangeburg, Mrs. Judy (Harry) Sprouse of Neeses and Mrs. June (Roy) Williams of Neeses; a sister, Mrs. Karine Perry of Ridgeway; 14 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

The funeral service was held at 3 PM on Tuesday, Jan. 4 at Lebanon United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Mark A. Altman officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Pallbearers were James L. Fanning III, Gregory B. Fanning, Ray Edgemon, Jeffrey Edgemon, Roger Williams, Joseph Wingard Jr., Tradd Rodgers, Alton Berry, Christopher Sandifer and Kevin Gleaton. Honorary pallbearers were members of Lebanon Faith Sunday School class.
