Shelby Nicole McCarter, 8, of Terre Haute died Thursday, March 4, 2010 in her residence.
She was a fourth grade student. She was born May 23, 2001 in Terre Haute, Ind. to Gilbert Edward McCarter and Ingrid Deanne Henseler McCarter.
She is survived by her parents of Terre Haute; four brothers, Dustin and Shane McCarter and Freddie (Genia) Bloebaum all of Terre Haute and Kenneth J. (Alicia) Henseler of Lebanon, Ind.; two sisters, Jennifer and Sarah Bloebaum, both of Terre Haute; paternal grandmother, Neoma Bell of Terre Haute; maternal grandparents, Wilfred and Elaine Henseler of Davenport, Fla.; maternal great-grandmothers, Reba Swaim of Rockville, Ind. and Sophie Dunnigan of Decatur, Ill.; one niece, Ava Rose Henseler of Lebanon, Ind.; several aunts, uncles and cousins.
She attended the Grace Baptist Church in Terre Haute. She loved her two dogs, Fluffy and Angel. She loved to take pictures of herself and others, loved to watch the Disney channel and playing World of Warcraft. Her dream from an early age was to be a doctor so she could care for others.
Graveside services will be 3 p.m. Monday, March 8, 2010 at Memory Garden Cemetery in Rockville, with Pastor Jim Haddix officiating. Burial will follow. Visitation is from 2 to 3 p.m. Monday at Gooch Funeral Home, 112 W. Howard St. in Rockville. Care and arrangements entrusted to Gooch Funeral Home, Rockville.
