Find $25,000 Cash In Home Of Man Who Died Recently
A cache of $25,000 in cash, deposited in three large safes in his home at Kiel, were found by relatives a few days after the death of William Feile, 60, bachelor railway clerk of Philadelphia, Pa., who died at Kiel August 22 as a result of injuries suffered in a fall. Thousands of dollars of money was in $100 bills.
Mr. Feile for a number of years had spent his vacations at Kiel at the Feile home, which is not occupied the rest of the year. He fell off a ladder while working about the home and died a week later in a Sheboygan hospital. Mr. Feile was a native of this county, having been born at Schleswig in 1883. He attended school at Kiel and later attended a Green Bay business college. For more than 30 years he was employed by the Pennsylvania railroad, at stations in Chicago, Pittsburg and Philadelphia. He is survived by three sisters, two brothers and a number of nieces and nephews. He never married.
Of frugal and saving disposition, Mr. Feile accumulated the cash savings down through the years and is believed to have made the deposits in the safes when he came to Kiel each summer during his vacation.
In addition to the currency found in the three safes, a number of bank pass books were also located which it is expected will disclose deposits in these banks to the credit of Mr. Feile. Proceedings have been instituted in county court here for probating the estate. An administrator has been named, but the total value of the estate will not be available until a further check of securities and holding in other banks has been made. The administrator of the estate had the cash found in the Feile home placed in a Kiel bank to await final disposition of the estate in county court.
