Husband of Evelyn Lawrenson Birgfeld who resided in the District Of Columbia.

Frank served as a Lieutenant Junior Grade & Pilot of TBM-3 #69281, VT-34, U.S.S. Monterey (CVL-26), U.S. Navy during World War II.

He resided in the District Of Columbia prior to the war.

Frank was "Killed In Action" when his TBM-3 crashed during operations to support ground forces on Okinawa during the war. The crash was more than likely due to enemy flak damage. He was awarded the Purple Heart.

He was originally interred on Japtan Island, then in the Schofield Mausoleum and later repatriated here on November 14, 1947.
